Maximuscle fuels top British Climber to Championship success
On the 13th March 2004, Steve McClure, top British Free climber, ranked 15th in the World in 2003, won the British Indoor Climbing Championships taking the overall crown for the 2003/2004 Series. The competition was divided into three rounds, the first being held at the Awesome Wall in Liverpool, the second at the Sunderland Wall in Sunderland, with the final round being held at the brand new climbing wall at Ratho in Edinburgh, known as the true Indoor climbing wall of the future.
The competition involved the very best climbers in Britain attempting three different routes, designed to really test human climbing limits to the full! And basically who ever climbed the highest route was the winner. The competition began at 9.00am and finished at 8pm and throughout the day contestants have to stay warmed up and ready to compete at their absolute best constantly. It is a competition which is both physically and mentally demanding on all the climbers taking part. To ensure Steve stayed 100% alert and full of energy throughout the day, he used Viper Extreme Bars.
Steve McClure went on to reach the top of all three routes, the only climber in the competition to manage this very exhausting task.
