Michaela Breeze's to Gold for Wales
Maximuscle long time sponsor, Michaela Breeze won Wales first Gold of the Commonwealth Games on Sunday 19th March in Melbourne when she put in an amazing and gutsy record breaking sequence's of lifts to win the Women's 65kg weightlifting in tremendous style for the Clean and Jerk and the Snatch.
Michaela, already a Silver medallist in Manchester four years ago, pushed Canada's Christine Girard and Miel McGerrigle into silver and bronze place.
She set three Games marks in the Snatch and one in the Clean-and-Jerk for a 220kg winning total, lifting her heaviest ever lift of 100kg in the Snatch, something she has never achieved before even in training! "I feel absolutely brilliant, this has made all those years of training and all the pain I've been through worthwhile because it's the one I've been waiting for and I'm so happy to have broken the Commonwealth record for the snatch and the overall scoreā commented Michaela.
Michaela has been using Maximuscle products as part of her training regime for the last five years, concentrating on areas of explosive strength and power. She works closely with Maximuscle to ensure that she recovers quickly after training, staying energised so that she is able to combine not only her full time job as PE teacher plus weightlifting tuition at Ivy bridge Community College in Devon, whilst still allowing time for her own intense training regime. Michaela's sports nutritional requirements became even more important for this years preparation for the Commonwealth Games for which her sights were fixed only on winning Gold!
